Please join us at OPENSOURCE HQ as we say a heartfelt "Good-bye" to fellow OPENSOURCE co-founder Dave Prinsen, his wife Tori, and their daughter Wren. Dave's sister has leukemia and Dave et al are moving back to his hometown of Vancouver to be close to her and his parents. This unexpected circumstance has placed a heavy burden on the Prinsens and we'd like to help out in any way we can. Please join us to help support the financial burden Dave and Torey are experiencing.
BYOB!!! THERE WILL BE A SUGGESTED DONATION ENTRY FEE OF $5 THERE WILL ALSO BE BEVERAGES AVAILABLE FOR A SUGGESTED DONATION.
A bone marrow donor drive has been started with a strong list of people interested in a donor drive that would add to the national marrow donor program registry. In order to establishg a donor drive we need 50 committed participants who can pay $25 for a blood test. The benefits of a drive are that the test is quick to perform (estimated 10 min.) and can be added to the national registry faster. The test consists of a small blood sample which then will be tissue-tested for a match. This does not mean you have to give marrow. You will be contacted if you are a match for anybody using the registry and consulted about what happens next. We would like to schedule a drive at the beginning of next year.
