OPENSOURCE Horizon
A new year brings some changes and renewed energy for OPENSOURCE. We'll be turning up our activity with some new strategies / plans for the coming spring. Look for OPENSOURCE becoming a more established "place" with regular hours of operation and a much cozier environment for gathering and generally getting some new projects going. These changes will include the opening of an objet d'art sort of kiosk thing featuring small and unusual artist-made works: books, zines, wearables, prints, etc.

The Art & Technology Lectures explore critical issues at the intersection of art and technology. In Fall 2004, the series examines the legal, technological, and conceptual issues that confront artists in the age of open source culture.

OPENSOURCE on WEFT 90.1 FM
We of OPENSOURCE were invited by Dave Monk (aka the Prairie Monk) to join him on his weekly Sunday morning radio show, "The Prairie Monk," to talk a bit about the space, some of our plans for the future, and anything in between. Our good friend and fellow artist Andy Ducett joined the conversation as well, which made for a fine Sunday morning rap session.
WEFT 90.1 FM is one of Champaign-Urbana's best media resources, being an amazing community-owned and -run public radio station. WEFT features a diverse selection of public affairs and music programs hosted by local folks like Dave Monk, who has been an advocate for environmental issues in our region for decades. Alternative media is where it's at.
